Luke’s Fiction

Luke reads widely and experiments with many genres, but fantasy fiction holds a special place in his life. Growing up between cultures, he often felt rootless. In the pages of Narnia, The Hobbit, and The Wheel of Time, he found characters who experienced a sense of unbelonging–characters who struggled to navigate the liminal spaces and cultural conflicts of their worlds. It was like coming home.

Today, Luke enjoys writing stories that both entertain and recreate that strange homecoming. His other big themes include sibling relationships, faith and doubt, humor, memory, grief, and hope in the depths of hell.
